The story
Automate AI was founded in Wellington in 2025 to build practical AI for small businesses: things that answer the phone, read the invoices and chase the quotes, priced so a five-person firm can say yes.
Voice agents came first. An AI receptionist that picks up every call, books the job and sends a summary turned out to be the fastest payback of anything we build, so we launched it in Australia as Vereo, with an Australian number, Australian hosting and Australian pricing.
Vereo now covers the rest of the office as well: websites, automation, social media, software and mobile apps. Same team, same rules.
Who
Andy Barker is the director of Automate AI Limited and the person you deal with at Vereo. He scopes every project, builds most of them, and answers the support email. There is no account manager between you and the person doing the work.

Where is my data?
On AWS in Sydney. Call recordings, transcripts, website data and automation data stay in Australia, encrypted in transit and at rest, and are never used to train public AI models.

Do you have Australian clients?
Yes, on the AI Receptionist. The case studies for our other services are from New Zealand clients of Automate AI and are labelled as such until Australian examples can be named.
Can I meet in person?
Andy is based in Wellington and travels to Australia regularly. Most scoping happens on a 15-minute video call, and in-person meetings can be arranged for larger software and app projects.
